Danish brand ROTATE Birger Christensen is working towards a greener tomorrow

The bright little going out dress you always reach for is actually sustainable! Yup, ROTATE Birger Christensen is environmentally friendly!

You probably know the ultra luxe fashion brand ROTATE Birger Christensen for their ‘party girl’ mini dresses, but they offer much more than that! That’s right: ROTATE, established in 2018 in Copenhagen by Danish influencers Thora Valdimars and Jeanette Friis Madsen, was created on the idea of building a woman’s going-out wardrobe. The collection consists of a women’s ready-to-wear line, with pieces that showcase an 80’s-inspired flare and style through bright colours, bold prints, alluring fits and textured fabrics. From the beginning, ROTATE has stuck to responsible ethical sustainability practices, fast forward to the present and the brand still holds these practices and is making large strides, changing to become even more sustainable. Keep on reading to find out how!

Why is ROTATE Birger Christensen a sustainable brand?

ROTATE selects materials based on their environmental impact, durability, quality, feel and finish. To reduce environmental footprint, ROTATE uses fabrics of recycled polyester, organic and recycled cotton and ecovero. Recently they’ve launched a sustainable loungewear capsule collection, ‘Sunday’. Crafting each item from 100% recycled materials or certified organic cotton. Additionally, the recycled polyester used for the tank tops and leggings is sourced from recovered post-consumer PET plastic bottles.

What do you contribute to when you buy a ROTATE Birger Christensen item of clothing?

ROTATE is committed to a responsible and ethical production of all their products. As well as to their workers. They follow a strict compliance code of conduct internally and externally. Using the UN Global Compact, UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), as well using a third party to conduct an audit by engaging with the suppliers on the production and ethical sustainability of their products.
